Exterior Design

The exterior of the Q4 e-tron looks fantastic. The distinctive, newly designed front grille has a hidden, constantly moving curtain behind it directing the airflow, which actually plays a part in both cooling the motor system and aerodynamics, giving the Q4 e-tron an extra 6km in battery range!

At the back, there are clean lines and a neat rear bumper with LED lights to match those at the front.

Interior and Space

It’s in the interior of the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron that we can see more surprises. The cabin is very spacious for a small SUV. Its interior dimensions are actually bigger than those of the Audi Q3 and Q5!

Child Seat Installation in the Audi Q4 E-Tron

The vehicle features:

  • ISOFix points in both outer rear seats with premium retracting guides
  • Top tether anchors on all three rear seatbacks
  • Capability to fit three child seats across in the SUV model
  • Excellent legroom with rear-facing seats (accommodating up to 188cm driver in front)

In the rear of the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron are ISOFix anchors in the two outer seats. They have plastic guides with lovely retracting motion (some of the nicest ISOFix points I have seen!). The ISOFix anchors are easy to connect to.

The Audi Q4 E-Tron has top tether anchors on the back of all three rear seatbacks, which are easily accessible through the boot.

I could fit three child seats across in the back of the SUV model of the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron which is fantastic for a small car like this. It’s great news for families with three children or grandparents that need the flexibility of driving their grandchildren. I did not test the child seats in the Sportback model which may be tighter for space due to the shape of the roofline at the back.

Three child seats fit across forward-facing in the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron. I had two 0-4 convertible child seats and a 6 months-8 years booster seat in the central seat.

I also rotated one of the 0-4 year convertible seats to a rear-facing position behind the driver and that combination fits nicely in the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron too.

Legroom is very good in the Audi Q4 e-tron. With the rear-facing child seat installed, we could fit a 188cm driver in front of it!

With forward-facing child seats, you can fit even taller front passengers in the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron.

Being fully electric, the rear footwell of the Q4 E-Tron is flat, giving fantastic legroom and kick-room in the back and making it easier for kids to move through the rear to access their seats.

Rear passengers are kept comfortable with rear aircon vents in the back of the central console box and USB-C sockets so they can charge devices while driving.

One of the best features for families in the 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron is the water bottle holders in the door armrests. These are fantastic, so little ones in the back can easily reach and access their drinks while driving, and you don’t have to keep passing them things in the back.

Another great family feature in the 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron is the individual rear door child locks. Two buttons in the driver door control panel lock the rear doors and windows so little passengers in the back can’t fiddle with them while you are driving.

When you turn the Audi Q4 E-Tron off, there is a rear seat reminder so you don’t accidentally leave your baby in the car.

Safety Features of the Audi Q4 E-Tron

The 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating with:

  • 89% child occupancy score
  • 93% adult occupancy score
  • Seven airbags, including dual frontal, side chest, curtain, and center airbags
  • Individual rear door child locks
  • Rear seat reminder system

When it comes to safety, the Q4 e-tron has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, scoring 89% for child occupancy and 93% for adult occupancy, making it a safe place for your family.

Seven airbags come as standard, including:

Technology and media system

The 2025 Audi Q4 E-Tron dashboard features:

  • 11.6″ tilted touchscreen media system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Multiple USBC charging ports
  • Wireless phone charging
  • Customizable ambient lighting
  • 360-degree surround cameras
  • Augmented reality head-up display (in top specs)

The front dash is dominated by the central 11.6” touchscreen media system in the Audi Q4 e-tron. It’s slightly tilted towards the driver, so it has a cockpit feel.

The media system has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can safely access your phone's navigation, podcast/music and messaging apps while driving.

There is plenty of storage in the central console, USB-C charging ports and a wireless phone charging pad.

The Q4 E-Tron's media system has some good functions, including colour-changing ambient lighting, which is quite fun for the little members of the family!

The cameras in the Audi Q4 e-tron are excellent quality, producing lovely, clear, and crisp images with 360-degree surround cameras.

The climate controls are on the dash below the media screen which make them easy to access and use while driving.

The top-spec models have a head-up display with augmented reality projected into the windscreen in front of the driver. It’s quite handy, as the navigation instructions are projected into there, too. However, like most systems, if you are wearing polarised sunglasses, you can not see the head-up display/projection. In that case, you can get the same information in your driver's display.

Storage and Boot Space in the Audi Q4 E-Tron

The boot offers:

  • Generous storage capacity
  • Side storage areas behind wheel arches
  • Under-floor storage for charging cables
  • Cargo net for securing loose items
  • Ample space for strollers and additional luggage

Storage in the Q4 e-tron's boot is very good, too. It’s a good-sized boot with small storage areas on either side behind the wheel arches, and underneath the boot floor, there is more storage for the charging cables.

The Thule Spring one-handed folding stroller fits really easily in the boot of the Audi Q4 e-tron, and there is heaps of room around it for other bags, shopping, etc.

The cargo net on the boot floor of the Audi Q4 E-Tron is great for securing loose kids items like balls, lunchboxes etc so they don’t fly around the boot while you’re driving.

Driving Experience

The Q4 e-tron drives well:

  • Smooth and quiet electric operation
  • Light steering with confident cornering
  • Good visibility
  • Tight turning circle
  • Easy parking and maneuvering with camera assistance

When it comes to driving, the Audi Q4 e-tron feels smooth and being fully electric, it is lovely and quiet! You get all the lovely benefits it being an EV, like sitting with the aircon running while your child naps in the back without burning through fuel and polluting the local environment. Guilt-free mum win, especially if you charge it with solar at home!

The Audi Q4 e-tron feels grounded and still has Audi’s sturdy feel and confidence in corners. The steering is incredibly light, and the steering wheel has a lovely tactile feel in your hands.

Visibility is very good in the Q4 e-tron. With two child seats in the back, you can see straight out the rear windscreen, but a third child seat in the central seat does block your view. The turning circle is nice and tight, and with the light steering and good cameras, parking and manoeuvring are easy.

I really enjoyed driving the 2025 Q4 e-tron through the beautiful Adelaide countryside. I look forward to testing it in the coming weeks with my family on board and using our full range of Thule prams in the boot and child seats in the back, as well as finding out if three child seats will fit in the sleek Sportback version.
