How about the new 10-year warranty?
The 2025 Nissan Qashqai, and in fact, all new Nissan models bought from January 1st, 2025, come with Australia's only a 10-year or 300,000km warranty if you service your vehicle with Nissan.
Servicing for the new Qashqai is capped at $399 for up to five years; after that, it is the cost of parts and labour.
As well as the longer warranty, keeping the Qashqai serviced at the Nissan Dealer includes up to ten years roadside assistance! It's a pretty tempting deal for families and designed to give you peace of mind to reduce the extra or surprise costs in ten years of owning your Nissan (which should also help its used value if you sell it before the 10 years is up)!
What has changed on the exterior of the updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai?
On the outside, the 2025 Nissan Qashqai's look has changed significantly across all models. Its new front grille's 3D design elements are inspired by Japanese Samurai body armour. The grille is available in different colour details across the model range to accentuate the V-shape.
The new front LED lights are also across the range from base level up and echo the 3D design elements in the front grille.
At the rear of the Qashqai, the bumper has been redesigned to match the new exterior styling.
The rear lights have also been changed to LED to match the design of the front lights.
There are new wheels for the Qashqai too. The ST has 17″ alloy wheels, the ST-L has 18″ alloys, Ti has 19″ and the Ti-L and N-Design have 20″ newly designed alloy wheels.
What has changed on the interior of the updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai?
The interior has also changed styling. The passenger side dash has been reshaped, and a black Alcantara finish covering the top of the dash, knee pad, and door panels has been added to the Ti-L model, as is leather seat trim in the top-spec N-Design.
The new 12.3″ media screen on the dash is standard on all model grades, and it features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for easily accessing your phone's navigation, music/podcast and messaging apps.
The driver display screen is also 12.3″ on the Ti, Ti-L and N-Design models and 7″ on the bottom two models.
The top two models the Ti-L and the N-Design have a 10.8″ head up display.
Dual Zone air conditioning is now available in all models.
There are rear air-con vents in the rear of the Nissan Qashqai which are fantastic for keeping little passengers in the back comfortable while driving along. As well as rear USB-C charging ports so rear passengers can charge devices while driving.
The introduction of CCS- Nissans Customer Connect App comes with a 3 year complimentary service. This allows you to remotely lock and unlock your vehicle and turn the lights and horn and lights on and off.
It doesn't currently allow you to remotely control the climate but Andrew Humberstone said this is something that may be available in the future.
For families with children of driving age the CCS App can monitor their use of car and alert you if they use the car outside of your set parameters of speed and location.
How many child seats fit in the updated Nissan Qashqai?
This refreshed Qashqai is just as practical for families as the outgoing Nissan Qashqai.
Like its predecessor, the 2025 Nissan Qashqai has ISOFIX in the two outer rear seats that are within plastic guides and lovely and easy to connect to.
The 2025 Nissan Qashqai has top tether anchorages in the back of all three seatbacks, which are easily accessible through the boot.
When testing the 2024 Nissan Qashqai I found three child seats fit in the back very comfortably and the new 2025 model has not changed significantly enough to prevent you from doing so.
I also tried sitting between two child seats in the back of the Qashqai and could fit quite comfortably, which is good for a small SUV, and I'm 162cm.
Legroom is good in the 2025 Nissan Qashqai. We found that with forward-facing child seats installed in the back, a 186cm driver can sit in front, or with rear-facing child seats, approximately a 170cm driver can sit in front.
The rear doors open nice and wide to 90 degrees, making access easy for passengers, helping with the space you need to install child seats and the elbow room you want when fastening their harnesses.
What is the boot space like in the updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai?
Boot space in the updated Nissan Qashqai hasn't changed compared to the 2024 model, which would fit eleven shopping bags.
I took the Thule Spring one-handed folding stroller to the 2025 Nissan Qashqai launch, and it fits nicely in the boot.
How safe is the updated Qashqai?
The updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai has the same five-star ANCAP safety rating, scoring an impressive 93% for child occupancy protection and 91% for adult occupancy protection, making it one of the safest small cars you can buy for families in Australia.
Of the child occupancy testing, ANCAP wrote:
In the frontal offset test, dummy readings indicated GOOD protection for all critical body areas of both child dummies, apart from the neck of the 10 year dummy where protection was rated as ADEQUATE.
In the side impact test, protection of all critical body areas was GOOD for both dummies, and maximum points were scored. The Nissan Qashqai is fitted with lower ISOFix anchorages on the rear outboard seats and top tether anchorages for all rear seating positions.
Installation of typical child restraints available in Australia and New Zealand showed all child restraints assessed could be accommodated in all rear seating positions.
Seven airbags are standard:
Dual frontal, side chest-protecting and side head-protecting (curtain) airbags are standard. A centre airbag which provides added protection to front seat occupants in side impact crashes is also standard.
As standard, all models of 2025 Nissan Qashqai come with adaptive cruise control (ACC), anti-lock braking system (ABS), autonomous emergency braking (AEB) β Car-to-Car, VRU, backover and junction assist. Blind spot monitor (BSM), child presence alert, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), emergency brake assist (EBA), emergency stop signal (ESS), fatigue reminder, fatigue monitor/detection, forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keep assist (LKA), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), reversing collision avoidance (camera), speed assistance β auto / intelligent speed limiter, manual speed limiter and speed sign recognition and warning and Smart (intelligent) key all come as standard.
What is the updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai like to drive?
Thankfully, very little has changed to how the Qashqai drives. It is still excellent! All versions are lovely and smooth, and now even quieter with new thickened glass in the side windows. This makes the drive more cocooned from the outside now, which is wonderful when you have little ones on board and a break from parental sensory overload when you don't.
The E-Power models are lovely quiet cars to drive and they have that instant, predictable acceleration I love about fully electric cars.
If you want it to be completely silent and stealthy, you can turn on full EV mode with a button down in the centre console. This will allow you to come and go from your house in electric silence without the engine turning on. On other Nissan E-Power models, I have found this great for sneaking off to an early morning gym class without waking the kids.
The E-Power models have three drive modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport, so you can set them to how you most enjoy driving or to best suit the kind of road you're on.
The e-pedal allows you to drive with one pedal for both accelerating (when you press it) and braking (when you release it), which reminds me of how the dodgems fair ground ride works.
The previous Qashqai was a comfortable drive for both driver and passenger, and my kids enjoyed it when I drove it with my family onboard. I look forward to driving this updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai with my family in the coming weeks.
