The fully electric 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT is a very luxurious, fast and striking EV that is not going to be on every family's shopping list. For those considering this car, let's see how it fares as a BabyDrive and put it through our family car testing with Infasecure child seats and Thule prams…
BabyDrive Verdict
The 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT retails for almost $250,000 and shares its engineering with the Porsche Taycan (there is a less expensive $182,000 version for those on a budget!!!). It has a range of around 450 km, so let's see if it's practical as well.
When it comes to installing child seats in the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT, there are ISOFix points in both outer rear seats. They are within plastic guides, and they are nice and easy to connect to.
All three rear seatbacks have top tether anchorages, which are in the fixed parcel shelf behind the rear headrests.
Two Infasecure child seats fit in the rear seats of the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT. There is not room for a third seat in between them. We did just squeeze an eight-year-old friend in between them so if you need to you will be able to but it's not a comfortable everyday solution.
With these Infasecure child seats installed forward-facing, we could fit a 186cm driver or passenger in the front.
There are aircon vents in the back of the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT EV so rear passengers can be kept at a comfortable temperature while driving along.
Rear passengers have very little storage in the Audi RS e-Tron GT. Cup holders in a fold-down armrest in the central seat back that will hold a reusable or disposable coffee cup or a child's drink cup.
There are no map pockets in the back, just very small door bins that will hold a phone.
Storage is slightly better in the front of the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT. The central console has two cup holders that will hold a reusable or disposable coffee cup. In front of them is a storage area for glasses or phones, and behind them is a small central console box.
The glove box is a good size and will hold a wallet and iPad with the manual.
The front door bins of the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT are small too and will only hold a small disposable water bottle.
Storage in the boot of the Audi RS e-Tron GT is very generous. The boot floor is nice and flat for an emergency nappy change.
The 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT's boot space fits twelve shopping bags when empty, which is comparable to the Genesis Electrified G80 which fits nine shopping bags and the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo which holds thirteen shopping bags.

You can keep an eye on your battery usage and optimise your battery usage too in the charging screen.
When you put the car in reverse, the camera images are lovely and clear and fill the lovely large screen.
You can turn the parking sensor noise off on the bottom left of the screen and there's a 3D camera too.
The 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT is a very fast car to drive, going from 0-100km/h in just 3.3 seconds! You feel your organs against your spine when you test it out! Obviously, this isn't necessary for school drop-offs, but it's enjoyable once you've dropped the kids off! This isn't a typical family car but you can definitely use it as one. It's worked really well for our family of four. My eldest daughter has complained about it being “so low” but I think they quickly get used to it.
Being almost the same dimensions as the Kia Carnival at just under 5 meters long and 2m wide, I found the size and lack of visibility quite stressful the first couple of days of drop-offs as I was worried about scratching the wheels on the kerbs; however, this is something I have got used to over the week, and I can see that if you owned the 2024 Kia RS e-Tron GT, you would get used to its size and visibility.
There is definitely no frumpy Mum or Dad feel when driving this car to school drop off and pick up!
Overall, the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT makes a surprisingly practical and fun BabyDrive for those looking at luxury electric sedans. Two Infasecure child seats fit nicely in the back with excellent legroom, and the boot can hold a double Thule Urban Glide 3 Double pram.
The Audi RS e-Tron GT does not have an ANCAP crash test rating. It has airbags that cover front and rear occupants in the event of an accident.

BabyDrive Indepth - Noise
How noisy is the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT, and how easy is the media screen to use?
As a fully electric car, the Audi RS e-Tron GT is quiet and smooth with fake engine noise that lets pedestrians and birds know you are coming. If you get caught out with a napping child, you can drive your kids to sleep and sit with the aircon running without churning through fuel and polluting the local environment.
Being a luxury vehicle, you are cocooned from any outside noise from the road or wind.
The Media system in the Audi RS e-Tron GT is lovely, modern, and easy to use.

The 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT's indicator sound is not too loud, so it did not disturb my kids while they were sleeping in the back.
The doors, however, shut with quite a hard slam, so they are quite baby-waking! A lovely feature of the doors of the RS e-Tron GT is that they stop at any angle you open them to, so they do not swing out and hit anything or close onto you.
Becoming a parent I soon realised there are some noises and sounds I feel are unnecessary and I could happily live without if it meant my baby stayed asleep!!
That often the distraction of my screaming, distressed baby is more dangerous when driving than not having a lane departure warning for example.
If it is the lane departure warning beeping that creates distress with my baby then which is safest?
It’s where I think we need to be able to strike a balance and choose when we can mute the warnings or swap them to a vibration in the steering wheel or flashing light perhaps?
A lot of these noises come with the increase in technology and especially linked to safety features and alerts. For me these all have their place.
Another thing I have realised is I spend my time in a lot more places where small children roam, parks, beaches, play gyms, swimming lessons, daycare centre etc. I have become more aware that when I’m reversing or manouvering in the car parks I have to tripple check for small children running around behind me or being in my blind spot when reversing. For this I LOVE reversing cameras, I just don’t like their beeping sounds!!
I have become so much more aware of safety and potential accidents or hazards since having a child and so I love the peace of mind that I get from the cameras and sensors combined with my own vision from windows and mirrors as I don’t trust cameras alone.
The Audi RS e-Tron GT is a lovely, quiet, and smooth drive!
BabyDrive Indepth - Car Seats
How many child/baby seats can you fit in the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT?
When it comes to installing child seats in the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT, there are ISOFix points in both outer rear seats. They are within plastic guides, and they are nice and easy to connect to.
All three rear seatbacks have top tether anchorages, which are in the fixed parcel shelf behind the rear headrests.

The Audi RS e-Tron GT EV has air conditioning vents in the back of the central console box, so rear passengers can stay comfortable while driving.
When inserting Bub into their child's seat from outside the car, the roof line is very low, and you really have to bend down and in to fasten their harness—it could get sore on your back! From inside the car, the roof is low. My youngest climbs into her child seat, and I lean in to fasten her harness, and I find that's been fine for my back. There is room to feed Bub in the back if there is only one child seat installed.
Australia being a country of weather extremes- blazing sun and torrential rain, mean you may find it easier to put Bub into their seat from inside the car sometimes. If it’s hot you can get the air-con going, cool the car down and not stand out in the sun while you fasten them in or shelter from the rain and not get soaked yourself whilst you’re doing it. So it is important to test whether Bub can be easily installed from either direction!
BabyDrive Indepth - Drive & Comfort
How comfy is the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT?
The Audi RS e-Tron GT has air conditioning vents in the back of the central console box, so rear passengers can be kept comfortable while driving along.
The rear seats are comfortable for passengers not in child seats. They are perforated as they can be heated using the controls in the back of the central console box.
The front seats are also perforated, as they can be heated and cooled using controls in the dash.
The front seats also have a massage function you can control through the media screen.
There are four air-conditioning vents across the front of the dashboard, two underneath the media screen and one at each end of the dashboard.
The air-con controls are along the bottom of the central air vents.
Visibility is limited in the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT because it's a very large car; you sit low, and the windows are small. When you have two child seats in the back, the visibility out of the rear windows is even less.
Excellent cameras in the 2024 Audi RS e-Tron GT compensate a little for the lack of front and rear visibility, making maneuvering and parking a little easier.
One thing I have noticed since being a mum is I hate it when I reach a destination or get home from being out and Bub has either done really well in the car or she is screaming her head off and I have done really well to keep it together for the entire journey (usually the latter!!) and it takes 10 minutes to park the car! It can be really stressful. Usually, I dread parking long cars as they take longer in our tight apartment block carpark, but the Audi RS e-Tron GT is not very easy to reverse park!
The interior of the Audi RS e-Tron GT is compact and minimal.
Some of these safety features are also features that drive me crazy as a mum! Like the lane departure and forward collision alert or the parking sensor beeping sound. I want all the safety technology AND to be able to mute the sound when Bub’s asleep!
