This is the 2023 Peugeot e-2008, a fantastic small electric SUV. I absolutely LOVE the Peugeot 2008 so I can't wait to see if this fully electric version is still as stylish, fun and practical for families! In Australia, the e-2008 is sold only as a top-spec GT model.

The even better news (unless you bought one already) is that Peugeot Australia has discounted this lovely e-2008 SUV to just $40K drive-away, making it about $25K CHEAPER than when this review was shot a couple of months ago and less expensive than the petrol version of the 2008 I tested previously!

Like the 2008, the interior of the Peugeot e-2008 is a pleasure to be in. A lot of attention has been paid to the details. The size and shape of the steering wheel is something I really like about the Peugeot e-2008. Being smaller than you would find in most brands of car as well as thinner, it feels like it fits more comfortably in your hands. It also sits lower so your arms are in a more relaxed driving position.

Also, the seats have beautifully contrasted fabric, trims and stitching.

The two sets of ISOFix in the two outer rear seats are behind delicately concealed zips.

When it comes to installing child seats, there are top tether anchorages in little slits on the back of all three seatbacks. They are behind the seat back fabric and easily accessible through the boot.

We were able to fit two Infasecure child seats nicely in the back of the Peugeot e-2008. We installed the Infasecure Adapt More Infant Capsule rear-facing behind the driver and the Infasecure Achieve More 0-8 years convertible child seat forward-facing on the other side.

There was no room to squeeze a third child seat in the central seat and I could not fit between the two child seats in the central seat either.

Legroom is good in the Peugeot e-2008, with the rear-facing Infasecure Adapt More infant capsule we could fit a 182cm driver in front.

There are no air-con vents in the back of the Peugeot e-2008 so rear passengers are relying on the front vents to keep them the right temperature in the back. There are two USB sockets on the back of the central console box so rear passengers can charge their devices while driving.

Storage in the back is minimal, there are no cup holders in the back. Simply door bins that will hold a refillable water bottle and storage in the handle wells.

Net map pockets on the back of both front seats will hold but not conceal an iPad.

Storage in the front is better. There are two cup holders in the central console that will hold a reusable or disposable coffee cup.

In front of them there is a phone storage tray and above that another that is covered. There is a 12V, USB and USB-C socket here too.

Behind the cup holders is a small, deep central console box and the glove box is small too with just room for the manual.

The front door bins are large enough to store a large refillable water bottle and an iPad fits in them too.

The boot floor of the 2023 Peugeot e-2008 can be taken out and dropped down about 10cm, which makes a really big difference when fitting prams into the boot space. It gives you added depth so you do not have to remove the parcel shelf as you do in so many other small SUVs.

When the boot of the Peugeot e-2008 is empty it will hold ten shopping bags. That is the same as the Mazda CX-30 and VW T-Roc and one less than the Kia Seltos. In the EV space the the Kia Niro PHEV also holds ten shopping bags. The MG ZS, Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid, Nissan Leaf+ and Hyundai Kona EV will all hold nine shopping bags.

Or you can fit the Jiffle Wagon 6-in-1 pram with its seat in the boot of the 2023 Peugeot e-2008 with two shopping bags.

The Jiffle Wagon 6-in-1 cart fits in the boot with two shopping bags, and the Jiffle wagon holds up to 60kg of cargo inside the wagon too.

The Jiffle Wagon, with the Adapt More Infant capsule installed into the car, fits with two shopping bags.

The boot floor is nice and flat so it is perfect for an emergency nappy change or for carrying your small to medium size family dog.

The media system in the Peugeot e-2008 is nice and modern to use, it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can easily access your phone, music and Apps while driving. You control the screen using the paddles on the dash underneath the central air vents.

You control the air conditioning through the media screen too.

The e-2008 does around 328km to a full battery range which is enough for school drop-offs and daily commute in our house for a good few days without charging. You can watch your electric motor on the EV display in the driver display screen and clearly see your range on the left of the screen too.

The Peugeot e-2008 is an incredibly fun and nippy car to drive. There is no frumpy Mum bus to be seen here! It's agile and the steering is very light. Visibility is great even with the two Infasecure child seats installed I could see easily out of the rear and side windows. The turning circle is very tight and it's a lovely little SUV for driving around town and easy to park and manoeuvre in tight school and supermarket carparks.

2023 Peugeot e-2008

The petrol version of the Peugeot 2008 has five stars from ANCAP but the Peugeot e-2008 has not yet been ANCAP rated and has six airbags as standard including dual frontal, side chest and side head. It also has seatbelt reminders for all seats.
